Want to be an umpire?
If you are interested in being part of our team these are the things to know:
- Pays you well to officiate the game that you love
- Allows for flexible hours
Requirements:
- Be at least 13 years old during the calendar year
- Have knowledge of the rules of baseball
- Be willing to attend and complete a mandatory 1 or 2-day training course to obtain accreditation as well to take an on-line course.
If you fit these requirements, feel free to fill out the signup form! We are always looking for new Umpires to enjoy the game from a different point of view.
Equipment:
Once one is an official Umpire, they have to follow specific dress code:
- Black baseball cap with Baseball Quebec logo (provided)
- Powder Blue Polo with Baseball Quebec Logo (provided)
- Dark grey pants (not provided)
- Black belt (not provided)
- Black socks (not provided)
- Black bag for baseballs with broom and indicator (provided)
- Black shoes, with or without cleats (not provided)
Umpires must also have the following equipment when officiating behind the plate:
- Mask (provided)
- Chest protector (provided)
- Shin pads (provided)
