.DABA offers clinics to all coaches to improve their baseball skills. There are technical, practical and theory clinics. The technical and practical clinics are listed on the right. For theory clinics, please contact us at the above email address.
DABA also offers umpires and scorekeeper clinics for those to learn, or improve their skills for their respective jobs.
IMPORTANT - COACHES TO MIGRATE THEIR CERTIFICATION TO THE NEW SYSTEM
The National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) is in the process of changing from its current certification structure. In order to retain your previous technical/practical levels, you need to do a free online course to transition in to the new system called "Make Ethical Decisions". Therefore, if you previously did Level 1 Baseball, Level 2 Baseball, or Level 3 Baseball, you need to transition in to the new system. Note: Coaches will no longer retain their theory certifications when migrating to the new system.
2010 Coaches Clinics
The region has scheduled some coaching clinics for the year.
For coaches who are NEW (has no levels before) to the system, the online portion must be completed before signing up for one of the following session. The online clinic can be found at http://nccp.baseball.ca/, under "Register" section. There is a cost of 37.45$ and a credit card is required before signing up. DABA will reimburse you with upon proof of completion and a receipt.
ENGLISH COURSE - INITIATION COACH
If a coach does the online + in-class session, they are granted "Introduction to Initiation - Trained" status. Coach must have completed the Online session prior to attending these clinics:
1) Friday, May 14, 6:30pm - 10:30pm, room 024, DDO Civic Center
FRENCH COURSE - INITIATION COACH
To be determined.
REGIONAL COACH COURSE - BILINGUAL
You must already be "Initiation Coach - Trained" to participate in these clinics.
If a coach does Session 1 & 2 & 3 they are granted "Regional Coach - Trained" status.
All sessions are held in at the Westminster Chalet in DDO:
1) Friday, May 21, 6:30pm - 10:30pm -- Planning & Design Clinic
2) Saturday, May 22, 8:30pm - 12:30pm -- Teaching & Learning Clinic
3) Saturday, May 22, 1:30pm - 5:30pm -- Analyze Performance Clinic
